We also use throws, we had a schauzer friend lost him recently my wife looked after him when our friends worked away he is missed, we have a Dyson hand held which we find invaluable. Loads of towels bought the caravan when one of our dogs (she is no longer with us) became poorly and we love it haven't been abroad in nearly 10 years

I have a handheld dyson too and bought a spare charger to keep in the caravan because I use it a lot at home.

I've only been on a Calais shopper coach trip, never been on holiday or anything else. I'd love to see more of this country but my hubby only wants to go to Devon😐 He said he'll try other places, even abroad maybe when he retires.
He's 63 so not long but still getting over cancer at the moment.

Hmm football is partly responsible for our lack of caravanning this year - they have a Man U season ticket which is quite invasive! And they. It's play for 2 teams. Season is nearly over now so hopefully we will get some free weekends.

I can't even contemplate them getting an interest in bikes - I'm sure they'd love it but for us poor mums it's not the best!!

It sounds like your grandson is in very good hands xx

I can't fault your husband carol - given the choice I'd only go to Devon!! Sadly we are up north so can only do longer holidays in that area as it's a mammoth car journey from ours. We have done longer holidays further north from us (Northumberland, etc) and it's been lovely but it feels wrong not going south.

My first love is north Devon. I am contemplating Cornwall for a change next year though ;)

I was as bad for the motorcycles until my arthritis put paid to it and now I suffer badly with vertigo so it's a definite no-no. One of my friends called me a biker's moll once for a laugh lol. I loved all the winding roads and the runs to Porthcawl in the summer. It was great.

If you ever get the chance check out the site in Devon I told you about. Fantastic for the dog and a huge leisure field for the boys. Only thing is you have to book well in advance but it's worth it.

That sounds lovely, Cliff, I've never been up north.
Well, Blackpool but that's it really. My hubby works on the railway and we get free travel so when I had my family home I'd take them up for a weekend. Hubby wouldn't come.

We have a springer, not crate trained. She comes on each and every one of our caravan adventures even to France, she loves it as much as we do. She sleeps in the van with us. She has her own bed in there which she starts in but always ends up creeping into bed with us! We let her get away with it on holiday. We go to sites with good dog walking facilities and she always stays outside/awning until clean and dry. Some places do have dog wash facilities. I also put throws on sofas and we have removeable carpets with lino flooring underneath so we never have the carpets in our new van as its easier to sweep/wash than carpets.

Generally she comes with us when we go out as we try to go to dog friendly beaches/ country parks etc. We have left her in the caravan for a few hours at a time and have checked with neighbours who say they never even realised, she just sleeps when we are not with her.

One thing to consider if going away somewhere hot like france or if you are lucky and get some heat in the uk... the awning especially will get very hot in sunshine so you will be best with a pitch in full shade.

We lost Jess in June 15. She had cancer. Her and Poppy were litter sisters but Poppy didn't bat an eyelid when Jess went. We had them from babies and Poppy is 11 in August.
