I always smile at these posts. Someone will mention ‘they don’t know campsite etiquette....’

Somehow that etiquette doesn’t apply to groups who gather at one pitch and bellow late into the night.
it also doesn’t seem to apply to folk who think it is alright to pollute vast areas of the campsite with choking smoke followed by the stink of burning meat.

Oh well, I expect that is different.

Yep we will be having a lovely BBQ today with a nice piece of rump steak on it.

ARRGH! BBQs! Though only time I've really been affected is by a big family/friends group having a multitude of them going and smoking fellow campers including myself out!

On the subject of extended leads, I had a ground anchor for my dog and he could only go a short distance within my pitch area, though he preferred the car seats - he could watch more of what's going on. Having said that, we'd be out most of the day so he was never tied up for that long. I had an extended lead for use when we were further afield but livestock around, altho' to be fair, he was so used to livestock that he ignored them - he had a great relationship with the Highlanders who used to wander up our drive regularly. Worst occasion was when someone with a cat was pitched just up from us decided to go for a wander and had the temerity to come onto our pitch!!

We were at a CAMC site last week and some people there had their cat with them. He was actually on a long tether he looked happy enough though.

I have a gas BBQ and a cadac so try to keep the smoke to a minimum but we stayed at a site where fire pits were allowed. It was a disaster, every man and his dog were burning stuff for the sake of it. It wasn’t even cold. We only stopped for one night and were glad to leave but we stank of smoke, our caravan stank of smoke it was bad.

Kids riding bikes on site is not the best thing especially if they are not being supervised, unfortunately a few years back a child was killed at York rowntree park when riding a bike on site
