Bessie, not much of a saving if you factor in the cost of the car!
Depends which way you look at it like for like it's £3140 more than the diesel model, i would of thought you would easily recoup that on the back end as the RV will be way higher.

How much is the cheapest Tesla? A relative has just bought one (and a new camper-van). Not seen it yet, but it will be interesting finding out how it fares. He lives in the middle of nowhere, so he will use juice just getting to civilisation.
Something that has not yet been mentioned, the dangers if an EV is in a serious accident. Bad enough with a tankful of petrol, but all those nasty chemicals and risk of electric shock from all that stored power!?!
Don't get me wrong, I would willingly have an EV now as a general use car, but they are way beyond my budget.
All cars are subject to NCAP testing so any problems associated with a BEV will have been recognised and adequate safety modifications implemented.

I'd willingly have an EV as a runabout too, but there simply isn't one that would meet all my needs, and there isn't one that comes within a million miles of my budget. I can't even think about running two vehicles.

Agreed, but that does not mean there are not dangers there. Fine, emergency workers will be aware of these dangers and wear appropriate ppe, but when you see reports like this, you have to wonder just how far can these gases spread and how quickly?
“ Although these fires remain rare, when they do occur, they can be extremely dangerous.
During an electric vehicle fire, over 100 organic chemicals are generated, including some incredibly toxic gases such as carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide – both of which are fatal to humans.”
Any source of a large amount of stored energy is potentially explosive if all that energy is released instantaneously. Think dropping a match into10gallons of petrol. I would think though that in an accident situation there is more of a fire risk to leaking fossil fuel than batteries though.
Just goes to show how dangerous any form of transport can be. Back to horses, perhaps. Oh, I forgot, they produce other nasty exhaust fumes and falling off can be lethal.
Watch Long Way Up with Ewan McGregor and Charley Boreman.
They are travelling from Patagonia to Los Angeles on Harley Davison electric Bikes with a production crew driving Rivian 4x4's all vehicles are prototype but the challenges they tackle for electric vehicles is very interesting. For us caravaners the Rivians look pretty good and certainly a challenge to the Tesla.
I like the look of the Rivian, but at $70,000 it's just a pipe dream. If the price came down by 90% it would still be way too expensive for me. The design is vaguely reminiscent of my X Trail.
So if any billionaires fancy getting me a Christmas present.......
Unfortunately its on Apple TV+ I have been able to view it because I have recently purchased a new Apple mini mac and got a free years subscription with it, otherwise its a monthly subscription.
