Feel I must defend eBay here. I am a full time seller on eBay have been for over 5 years and I know every scam in the book from both the sellers and buyers perspective and none of them are caused by eBay, it is the person doing the advert that is the scammer.
What you have to bear in mind is that eBay have millions of items listed at any one time, they do act on reports however this can be a long process. What people don't realise is this guy is actually not breaking any of eBays rules. It is a classified advert which means any dealings are done off eBay directly with the seller. So when someone reports the listing to eBay they have to act on it and find out if any of the rules have been broken, which they have not.
The bottom line is this; none of us actually know 100% that the caravan is not for sale do we? And that is the problem eBay have, without physically sending someone to the persons house to check the van and documents etc then it is just hearsay. If you are all so bothered report it to the Police and see what kind of reaction you get, I absolutley guarantee it will be zilch because up to this point no crime has been committed.
Please also note the exact same problem can arise on any website, Auto trader, caravanfinder etc.
A friend of mine recently got ripped off for £400 quid by some gypsies. They went into his shop and "sold" him a brand new laptop, to cut a long story short he ended up with a brick. When he called me to have a moan I told him it was his own fault.
The bottom line is this; if you think it is to good to be true it is. And any fool that parts with there cash this easily deserves it.

If you mention *G* word on this site you have what seems to be the "traveller liason officer" on this site saying not to post true stories about them. Waits for Capt`n Bob to try and get post closed.

I was gonna list my caravan on ebay! Don't think il bother now nobody will look now!
We sold ours on ebay and had no trouble at all. Person who bought it didn't even bother to come and view it first, but a few people did. It was CRIS registered and we had all the original documents, even the receipt from the first person who bought it!!! The man just asked for the details and checked it with CRIS.
