Good point Andy, we had to move our spare wheel to a carrier that goes underneath to reduce noseweight!

We had a diffrent problem with the electrics it was too long for us and rubbed on the road - again all sorted now.

Both electrics are on the left on OH's car so we should be ok with that bit,

I have to admit I do like the van to be clean so being able to clean the front properly is a big bonus.

Thanks for the tip off with the noseweight. I think in the very near future we will be Geist owners.

Will keep you updated and thanks for the answers to my questions, (am secretly quite excited)

Hi Jeff

We hope they get something out to us all soon - we have been waiting a while and we have seen people loose interest, which is a shame but perhps once something is actually going they will get interested again.

Hope you have a good time in France.

Hi it has been a while and you can understand why people are getting fed up there is no real response from geist its a shame because I think if someone could take this by the horns it would take off big time we just need someone or more that could start a club forum and be helped running it and organising it and maybe think about the odd meet or what ever Im positve there is a lot more interest out there its just getting the ball rolling you can see the response we have started just on this little site so if anyone can help us poor souls get started I think I can speak for most it would be much appreciated cheers all jeff    (waiting in the queue) ???

Personally, I think that Geist are missing out on one of the best and important methods of raising their profile in the market, especially as they are selling direct.........come on Geist, get the finger out and communicate with your customers without whom you won't have a market.

Dear all. Don't worry, I have got the message! I know that you've been asking for some help setting up an owners club for ages and, with one thing and another, it's never happened.

We ARE serious about getting this up and running I promise. I'm getting a web site organised and we will be sending out a letter and questionnaire to everyone in our database - we just wanted to make sure that we include all of the latest news in the letter as it's quite a time consuming exercise. Within 2 weeks everything should be much clearer this end and we can get the letter out. In the meantime I need your help please.

I am working with our web guys to get a website sorted for the owners club - what do you want it to include? I'm assuming you'll want to post photos, have a discussion forum, an events listings page, a membership/sign up page, an 'about us' page and even eventually, a merchandise page. What else?

I know that this is just one element of the club - the letter/ questionnaire will give us an idea of what owners and potential members might want from the club and we'll need to sort out who will run it, how it will be run, etc. I already have a couple of people who are willing to help run it and I envisage that we'll have a meeting shortly to see how it might work, and then advertise for volunteers to take specific roles.

If you'd like to complete the questionnaire in the meantime then please email me and I'll email it out to you - that would be a good start. My email is marketing at geistforlife.com

Thank you for your patience and persistence - I'm sorry we've taken so long to get moving. As you know I am only part-time but this is a high priority job and will be treated as such!

best wishes

Claire

How about a "Suggestions to Geist" section where owner/members can make constructive comments and suggest any improvements that could be made. I'm sure everyone has made the odd adjustment that they could share with other owners, but more importantly, share with Geist.

Good idea Jennifer, I'll add it to the list. I'm speaking to the web guy in the morning but the type of website I'm planning will be modular, so that we can just plug additional modules in as we need them. I'll know more about the capabilities once I've spoken to him.

Also - I'm just doing a bit of work on what the other owners clubs cost, how they run and what they offer. We will be teeny compared to the likes of Elddis etc but it will give us an idea of what's possible. Some have HUGE committees by necessity, and regional reps etc. We need to discuss all of this. I think that simple is best but if anyone can help with their experiences and opinions of other clubs that would be very helpful

Hi to all Geist owners,

We just took delivery of a 2007 Geist Signature 'van on June 25th, having previously owned a Swift. We only went to the garden centre to buy some plants and stopped by Elite Caravans for a "little look"..... as they say......the rest is history!!

We are really impressed with the standard of German 'vans and hope that this one will last us a very long time.

It would be great to hear from other Geist owners so that we can ask questions and generally keep up to date with anything that's going on.

Our first trip away is to Scotland in July - family party to attend so staying at Lomond Woods then off to North Ledaig site just outside Oban. We were there last year and had a pitch right on the front overlooking the Isle of Mull (maginificent sunsets)  this time we have had to forego our front sea front pitch as they can't accomodate twin axles on them -we don't mind though as we are so happy with our new and all pitches have sea views.

We are already planning summer hol 2010 to the Pyrenees anybody fancy joing us???

Where are you other Geist owners going to for holidays?

Happy caravanning

S.S.

Andrew has been really helpful with feedback and he has first hand experience of running a club BUT I think that he's fully aware of the work and time involved and he was, quite rightly, asking what a club would add over and above just having informal get togethers of owners. I know he was playing devil's advocate but it is always useful to stop and think!

Hi Silver spirit, We picked ours up from elite on wednesday and have just spent our first weekend away in it and have to say have been really impressed so far,

Although due to the weather we didn't spend much time in the van (was mainly sat outside it)

Off for our main holiday to Ilfracombe on friday morning and cannot wait to really try it out (going to a non facility site)

We too changed from a swift to a Geist.

Good to hear of more and more people buying them!
