Wife " wow stop there" Long pause . Me " how does it look" another long pause her  " I dont know".

I hate having to come home - the weekends are not long enough!

I too am guilty of going over to shower in my dressing gown - I find the showers at some sites are pokie and some are even designed badly so the floor is always wet and no squeedgee so you can get rid of it, so dressing becomes a nause.

I too like other posters - do not like it when I don't have another trip booked - something to look forward too.

Hope to get away at least once more in the van before we have to put it to bed for the time being.

For someone who never wanted a caravan I don't have miss not being away in it.

I admit to going over in my dressing gown, at least I'm decent , I don't recommend walking over in your teeny speedos , like our last caravan neighbour insisted on wearing..... All day!!! Lol
And Arnie he wasn't

Right wing bigots who think that anyone who is not white and middle class shouldn't be on the campsite. They are normally the ones with fairly new caravans that look like they have not been used for more than a few days and spread their tables and chairs across two pitches and then hide behind windbreaks waiting to trap some poor innocent person into listening to their selfish views.

Poor chemical toilet emptying points where the waste splashes everywhere and the wash down/flush is inadequate to clean it up.

Muddy footwear in the showers - just because you where Crocs it doesn't mean that you should bring in a flower bed full of soil on the bottom of them.

People walking dogs on long leads so the dog can effectively run where it wants to. CCC state 6ft max for leads but even the Holiday Site Managers seem to use them.

Being pretty topical at the moment, another major hate is when the conditions get very windy.  I do worry about the awning.

1.  Towing in a wind

2.  Putting the awning up(or rather being around whilst OH puts awning up)

3. Yapping dogs

4. People going to showers in pj's they have obviously slept in. Yuk

5. Inconsiderate people using the car to go for their nespapers or whater at 6am

6. Facing work on a  Monday morning - Yes today's Monday I have had a lovely weekend away and I am as crammed as a wasp!!!

The narrow choice of layouts.
I would like a caravan with no shower, just somewhere small for a loo, and rather than a fixed bed, one that hinges down from the side of the van. A nice big kitchen with cupboards under the work top. And plenty of windows. I can do without the whole chintzy Indian take-away look too. And all shades of brown and beige should be banned for ever.
With all that gear left out it should be both cheaper and lighter.

That perfectly describes my first ever tourer - a 1961 Sprite Alpine bought for £250 in 1984.  The drop down bed made the van very heavy though.

Can I ask what's so bad about number 4 why is it yuk?
Is it no worse than people who've been in their clothes all day sweating napping BBQ'ing or whatever else they've done in them, then walking to the shower in the said same clothes!

Actually, it's a pet hate of mine too. Nightwear is for bed, not wandering around a field.

Also people that get paranoid that because they have an older caravan or car that people are looking down on them or sneering at them. Remember the brand new caravan next to you is probably on finance. At least your old caravan is paid for.

I never said I liked it just wondered what the difference was?

But reading all these hates, makes realise why I'm giving up caravanning, far to many people watching and judging others.

I was tempted to say people that wander around looking for things to moan about but I thought it would offend ummm... everybody by the looks of it.

We normally use CLs or rally fields so people wandering around in night wear is not an issue there. It does really appall me when people wander around supermarkets in their night wear. That's just advertising that they are lazy.

My one and only gripe is with fitting and removing the Milenco c13 wheel clamp. It's such a poor design that I have to use a lump hammer to fit and remove it. Apart from that my first Year of Caravan ownership has been great.

Putting up either the porch or full awning, taking the same down and packing them away - they never, ever go back the same way twice, having to go at no more than 60 mph for hundreds of miles, getting ready to go away for the first time after the winter lay-up and having to check that everything is working OK.

But these are all small prices to pay for the pleasure of using the caravan................

We have had caravans in the past and have had tents for the last 6 years.

We're having another van now and I can't wait!  I wouldn't call it hating but the one thing I'm not keen on is the towing  but I hope we'll get used to it again

Lazy people who cut thru between pitches because it's the shortest route to where they are going instead of using the footpath and walking that extra few steps.
