Look, sorry, people, I'm a tenter C&CC member, so maybe intruding. I live in Scotland and have noticed that they've introduced a Scottish season (not present before). I know many caravanners and motorhomers take advantage of non-high season (and pre-midge season!!) to visit but, much as you as you're very welcome, you need to look at this aspect too, when planning. I think this will be a disaster for the CCC - we're cancelling our membership and we use Scottish sites annually.

I sent my 2014 book and membership cards back on Monday with a letter saying i wasn't prepared to accept their revised terms and conditions and their over inflated price increase with a note to say i had joined the caravan club ........ Serves 'em right for over complicating things and getting greedy. They aren't the be all and end all !!

What are their prices for a site which is not too big and has a disabled shower etc. Any ideas would be welcome
We don't really like too big a site.
Thanks
On an identical pitch, at the same site, for exactly the same dates, it turned out to be nearly £40 more for next year - and it took me an hour to work it out.
Mrs Bonce, what's to stop the CS's putting up their fees to reflect the increases as well?
So now we have five pages of us griping at the raising of prices with hardly a whiff of anyone thinking that all in all the 'Club'??? are doing us a favour.
PLUS all the other comments on the UK Camping portion of this forum,
What's the odds that all our moaning will get a mention of any standing in next months magazine?
After all, the 'Club'??? have been given a what for on their Facebook page as well.
We'll have to wait and see but I'm not holding my breath for any official comments to be made.
------------- How come when some people visit the fountain of knowledge, they only gargle!!!
Maybe that is half the problems they all have far too many grabbing so muc of the membership fees they have less left for the pot so the massive hike.
I for one take no notice of any whom they add onto their nobs list, as they are not paying their wages out I am. The only ones that should be paid are those that actually do the work, not just have a name which they may of made during their life. So they think they will draw more members into the club, add them to their so called big name list, pay them wages for the use of their name and more money goes out.
But how many, who pay the fees take any notice of them.
I do not take much notice of the ads unless I want something personally like many others. So instead of having less to actually do the job, they have instead too many chiefs not enough Indians. They are the ones who will be first called on the telephones and get the rough side from the members. I know I used to have to take flack for what those at the top have done, did not have anything to do with what the nobs did but was the first to call for the clout. My wages was small but not for those at the top. Just like the NHS too many chiefs and the actual workers getting less and what have you got a right shambles.
The direction and attitude of the C&CC now seems somewhat identical to that of the banking industry, utility companies, water board companies and the NHS in the way they operate with the interest for those mainly at the top. Regarding the banks and utility companies we all have a choice to switch to try to get a better deal whereas the water board and NHS we can't. The C&CC may be heading in exactly the same direction but the difference here is that their customers don't have to switch to which means that they can just cancel their membership regardlessly if they don't like the new terms and conditions. However, the problem is that once the club have lost the trust of it's current members and the reduced the benefits they once offerred then it is difficult to recover from that loss especially if it's severe which in this instance I would consider that it is and the betting is that within the next two years the club may struggling financially that it could lead to liquidation or selling the club to a foreign investor. If the latter should be the solution we may see some better deals in the interest of it's it's members especially if it's a Greman company because if you look at the likes of Aldi supermarket this year in comparison to Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons I bet their turnover has trippled in the UK since the government introduced their cutbacks. So, whether it's shopping or camping, people are always looking for a good deal especially when money is tight which it is with most folk these days, so in light of this you don't a degree to sum up what the outcome will be for the C&CC in the not far distant future. With the ever price increases the C&CC need to operate efficiently but basically there's a right and wrong way of implementing that structure and sadly I think they have just got it all wrong in the way it has been introduced unfortunately.
There are over one million caravanners in the UK and I doubt if more than 10% of them are members of C&CC. Of these, probably less than 20% more than occasionally use Club Sites and therefore will be affected by this price hike. The majority of C&CC Members much prefer their affiliated sites and only pay a membership to get an up to date list of those.
Those C&CC Members who are loyal to Club Sites will continue to use them no matter what the cost and compared to B&B and Hotel Prices, they will always be the cheaper option no mater how their prices rise.
The Bread & Butter of both C&CC and CC is their Fan Club that will only stay on Official Club Sites and do not use any other type of caravan park.
Yes, C&CC are going to see a drop in their memberships and yes, the bonus of the occasional member booking a few nights on a club site now and then will drop, but the bread & butter brigade will still keep the club ticking along and perhaps it is to pander to this group that these new price regime changes have been implemented.
Ah, to make it a more 'exclusive' club you mean? Keep the riff raff of mere mortals out perhaps?
Hell, does that mean i'd get sniffy looks if we were to turn up on a club site with our '84 Abi?
Lolol
We only use 1 C&CC site as it's near our daughter but I am not sure we will join again this year. There is a CC site a bit further away at £11 per night unless they have put it up to £12!
