Somebody must have done a good job when nailed my ABI Monza together one day in 1985...
And how is that relevant to the discussion on today's new caravans Billy?
The UK motor industry is defunct because it was run by bean counters who couldnt make cars like fbe Asians could and whilst the Europeans caught on and if the caravan industry doesn't shape up, it will likely go the same way. IMHO
The bigger they are the harder they etc etc
Dinosaurs lived a long time but even they died out eventually.........
Its relevant because some of us might realise that we have better things to spend the £18k in our bank accounts on. Why spend £18k when £500 gets you much the same thing, ie a box to sleep in?
Obviously some may not actually know this, so I thought I would point it out. Once they have read this CnC thread, they may find the CoC thread a good read.

Boeing designed and built their new super plane around those batteries the fault was entirely Boeings..
they chose to use a battery technology that can catch fire.. ;)
but its said power is moving from the west to the east.. which means that we "the west" will gradually get poorer and the east will gradually get richer.. it also means that whatever problems our caravan industry has now it aint gonna get better..
so best enjoy your "crappy new caravans" while you can..
and even my new expensive Japanese camera says "Made in China" on the bottom of it..
I think there will always be problems if humans are involved -the real test is how they are dealt with by those responsible.
As I towed my new Bailey from the dealer's yard the nose weight exceeded the max nose weight for the chassis. No gas in hood. Bailey and dealer both difficult.Trading standards had to sort dealer but it was really a design problem.
I bought it with fixed price service costs.Dealer would not honour the contract referred to in Bailey literature. All Bailey said was "they should not do that". Remedy was to use an independent service engineer.Dealer loses trade - it does not make sense to me but I am not in business.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

You don't build an aeroplane around a battery pack and lithium is the best technology available at the moment.
What do you suggest Boeing do, go back to candles and mice running in wheels?
Well, back to the topic, I've just had a specialist survey done on the van, and with its various faults the recommendation is that I ask for a replacement van its that bad.
Starting to have a think. Do I want another Pursuit with the obvious design flaw of the join in the roof, plus the dreadful build quality.
Started drooling at this Trigano Silver 440 with the pop-up roof. Fixed bed at one end. Notice how the back panel wraps right around the sides of the caravan. No leaks there!
Overall length including coupling 5.9m
Weight empty 900kg (Yes you read right)
MTPLM 1200kg, so a 300kg payload.

Two things i noticed about it.One you cant bring your legs up and lie back as the seats are to short.Second is the bed,its right up against the walls so,how do you get out of bed other than you crawling and pulling the blankets of your partner ?
