OOOh Mark can't wait to hear what everyone's reaction was!!!  So you've obviously managed to save your £1000 needed to buy the 'van but i've just got ask is that the price Oliver thinks it must cost or what you actually needed to save lol?  Have your parents seen it yet?  With a 'van that size you really do need a motor mover.  We thought our Avondale was long and heavy but compared to our "Honey" she was nothing lol.  Motor movers are just like a big kids toy, we love moving our 'van now.  Luckily i'm a good wife and always let dh have a go 1st lol

Sorry Avctaylor i knew you had 3 but not what ages they were lol.  I'll still forget though as i am terrible :(  But not long till Monday...

Grumbley the dealer threw the plug in with the extra's.  We had been quoted from £90 - £150 at the other dealers.  So was pleased with the saving there.

It's my birthday in Feb and dh has the weekend after it off so hopefully we will be going away then.  As it will only be for the weekend then i'm thinking we might go to Grafham Water as that's only about an hours drive from home.  And i'm hoping it will be a site we fall in love with as its not too far away for weekends and has a swimming pool.  Our new porch awning should have arrived by then so we can try that out :)

Oliver thought that the whole van was £1000, I guess they don't ready have a idea of what things cost.

I had to call my parents a bit earlier than I wanted to... the van got stuck on the cul-de-sac and needed them to help... I did set up the digi camera up, but you couldn't ready see my mum's reaction very well... They been around tonight again, for a night time viewing :-)

The boys went crazy when we got home, and I had to keep the van locked for it's safety. Took them in it after dinner for a look and to test the beds out. They wanted to sleep out there tonight ;-)

The van's off to storage Saturday morning :-(

Mark.

The van went off to storage today :-(

Questions:

1. I took time to remove, bag and storage all the cushions and mattresses at home. Should I have bothered?

2. I left the gas bottle connected. Right / Wrong?

3. I left the battery there too (and connected as I didn't have any tools), should I store it at home?

4. I put the window blinds all down. Good / Bad?

Regards

Mark.

Hi Mark

I'm more clueless than you tbh but I'd have thought (4) makes (1) pointless as if theives can't see your van is empty they'll assume it's not?

Am hoping our collection goes as ok as yours!

If you are not using the caravan over winter you should keep the battery at home & charge it once a month. Its probabley best to leave blinds up so springs are not stressed & as pointed out, potential thieves can see it's empty of cushions so not worth nickin'.

So best you pop back today & do all that!

Thanks.

I was once told it was best to keep the blinds down to stop fading inside? That's why I did it.

I removed the cushions just in case any little furry animals got in, and made a nice new home. :-)

I shall be purchasing a couple of quick release battery connectors, I was quite surprised to find that they where bolted on... not even my car has fixed connectors.

Mark.

I used to look after a little American boy whose parents bought a brand new people carrier and he was convinced that it cost $100.  That was just the most money that he could imagine lol.

Bet you all felt upset at having to leave her in storage but it is the best place.  What did your parents say?  Bet their looking at all the places you can all go to lol.

They phoned me at work today, apparently I've got to book Ferry Meddows the end of March... I'm I right to guess that I can't book CC sites unless I'm a member?

It's only 9 miles from home!

Our lovely lady is home

Collection went smoother than anticipated and dh got her through the narrow access onto the field behind us on first attempt which had been our main worry.

One stupid query...in the first locker above the kitchen sink there's a plate rack. In the next one along is something that looks like a toast rack for very very thick slices of bread...what is it?!

Oooh bet its just wonderful having her home!!!!  The tight access i can certainly understand.  I'm fine towing but the thought of getting it out of here gives me palpitations lol.  I put bowls into mine too lol.

Thank you! Bowls it is

The girls & DH slept in there last night. Very cosy by all accounts, and before DH went out to be with them we had the baby listener hooked up and it was warmer in the 'van than in the house!
