There are some great caravans on this thread. I do agree that you do see more newer vans on sites, but maybe because if they've just spent 20 grand on a van then they'd practically want to live in it, I know I would. whereas, the people who spent a grand don't mind if they use it twice a year.
I would be proud to join the crappy old caravan club with any of you good people, I have just bought an old van and we love her, she is our pride and joy.We need to do a bit of bodging and doing up, but that is as much fun as going away to us.What great people you all are !!!!!
oldies have so much character. we got gladys to run for a year to see if caravanning was for us, paid next to nothing for her and had every intention of flogging her on and buying something a bit swisher the following year. but we've fallen for her charms and following a thorough service which gave her a clean bill of health we've decided to add to all the history of laughing, arguing, chilling, drinking, lurrrving etc. that's gone on in her over the previous 30 years until she's finally ready for the great CS in the sky...
mind you, give me off greeny white and snot green over pink any day
Sorry Kevin I'm just playing and hope you don't take an offence your opinion of my van is not far off my own
Aye bud....me take offense never in a million years. I have always posted what I feel on forums rather than post what some really want to hear and quite often gets me in trouble (especially if its a drawing by a 12 year old lass....if she can't draw for jack so be it).
The thing which I don't understand is we have a 1984 caravan and use it at least every other weekend, would use it more if we had the money - but I see the brand new ones sit in driveways for 51 weeks of the year.
Hi Paul, Where has your other thread dissappeared to...I took time to give an honest response without all the PC rubbish and now it's dissapeared. Shame, as I thought it was quite topical and a very interesting matter. I would've liked to have seen others response to it and your views too. All the best.

Good question I thought I must have done something wrong maybe someone said something bad don't know but I'll repost it see what happens
This is making me laugh a lot! We really should start a mag.
Can anyone explain why I can't post an image of my crappy old van? I followed instructions (apart from getting a flikr account as I already have a picasa one).
Wanting to share my non CRIS, non motor-mover, not so shiney caravan pictures...
