This is something that has always puzzled me about British caravans. When we were looking for our first caravan 4 years ago we were complete novices with no preconceptions or prejudices, so we looked at virtually every make of caravan available, both British and continental. We instinctively preferred the continental ones because they had a bit of colour - the Burstner we chose had blue upholstery, but red was an alternative option.
Since then I have come across frequent comments that one of the reasons continental vans aren't popular is because of the coloured upholstery! We don't live in beige houses, so why are beige caravans the UK norm??
