The C&CC now states that their club sites are to close, but don't know about CSs.

I had a campervan years ago and the reception in Devon was always frosty

The Caravan Club has from today shut all sites and CLs until 30th June 2020. About time. The Camping and Caravan Club as usual could not care about campers and their health and is only closing toilet and laundry facilities and sites are remaining open!

How long do you think it will be before the C&CC do the same? What one does, the other one is likely to do soon after.

Well I can now answer my own question. I have just had notification from the C&CC that all their sites are to close with immediate effect. I would imagine that this will apply to CSs too, as I know that if I was running one I certainly wouldn't be open.

Just looked at a live webcam feed from West Bay in Dorset and I don't think I have ever seen so many people there in my entire life!

In the Prime Ministers address on TV today the reporters all gave Boris a grilling as to why he wasn't taking stronger action to prevent people gathering in public places because it seems many people are not complying with his requests.

The answer was that in the interests of health and sanity it was deemed a walk in the park was essential providing people keep 2 metres away from each other. That is clearly not happening.

Listening to his replies though, I rather suspect that within the next couple of days stronger action will be taken, especially since we are only two weeks behind the mess Italy are presently in.

It is sad but inevitable that large sections of the population just cannot do anything they are told, even though they are putting their own health at risk and the lives of thousands of others.

An excellent video and worth watching all the way through as well as the video that follows. Sadly, those who need a short sharp shock probably wouldn't bother watching it.

I’m a nurse, I work in a major hospital and have seen our escalation plans for critical care when the virus hits, frankly it is terrifying.

Please stay at home. Rural areas will not have the infrastructure to support holidaymakers and being stuck inside a caravan for 7 days if you become ill would be extremely difficult, never mind how you would get any food . And no you cannot pack up and drive home at that point, just packing up your caravan services would put others at risk, this virus is highly infective.

This is a horrible situation, we were supposed to be away for Easter in our brand new van so I’m as disappointed as everyone else. Instead I’ll be at work, most likely looking after a lot of extremely ill people. Please stay home for me while I go to work for you.

Radcliffe I assume damn good hospital but like others has been struggling through lack of funding and bed blocking long before this virus struck, good luck to you and all the staff and try to stay safe

My wie is a retired nurse, but she left 6 years ago so has not been asked back yet. As she is over 65 and is recovering from a back injury she could not do too much.

Sites all closed so you can't go anywhere.
Glad we have a garden, not huge but ok.
Got a bbq and recliner chairs so Costa del Shropshire it is!
If its cool or wet we have the conservatory.
Take care folks.

Can't believe the earlier posts on this thread, after re-reading them. The number of no doubt lovely but unthinking people, planning to travel all over the place, particularly to rural settings is frankly terrifying. A holiday, short break, little jaunt etc are not essential travel. Given the sights now seen in Italy of people lying on corridor floors and even in the street should surely show the dangers. I am heartened to see the responsible people now saying they'll stay home - Thank you all, for dong this. It has been really worrying. Anyone still considering "escaping" because they think they will be alright - Well, you won't. You can't outrun this, or stay isolated away from home. You are safer at home and so are we all, because of it. Stay safe to enjoy the next season, and good luck.

Those earlier posts were over a week ago when things were very different - but nice of you to join just so you can show how morally superior you are...

Things were not much different over a week ago,the majority of sensible people were saying exactly what our Gov has finally got round to making official.

Unfair comment, a week ago any one with an ounce of sense would have decided to stay at home
