Hi weerab, it all goes back to the landrover vs jap crap (as the saying used to go) days. Most people in the UK who off road do so in mud and a few places they are aloud to go. the people who realy use 4x4's do so to stay alive look at the UN and what do they use  Land cruisers, Nissan Patrols none of your 'soft roaders' we get over here import or not. I bourght my Frontrea becouse i like the car as a whole not as a fashon statment or i have big 4x4/chelsea tractor brigade. And i know that my jackedup nova as people like to call them WILL pull a 1600kg twin axle caravan out of 3" mud cos i've done it. And what the anti vauxhall brigade fail to realise in that about the only thing on a Frontera that is vauxhall is the badge and engin the rest is IZUSU which if i am not mistaken has been making 4x4's longer than Mitsy. But back to the banter bit yes it better than BB but i have worked hard to pay for my Frontera (as have all of the people on here) i was just getting little p%%%%d off with it getting sl*gged off.....

 - no its so dick heads like you don't bang their doors on to it

Just to try and clarify as its becoming more and more aparent that some peeps are getting things all wrong here is that Reedrider(Mud Muppett) and Big Al (rainbow trucker) are damm good friends and all this banter has been just that, BANTER in a very lighthearted way. Both lads think that their 4X4 is the best and yet they can both mickey take with each other without it becoming a slanging match. Unwitting Frontera Man became dragged into this as he joined in on a thread in which these two were "doing their stuff".

Unfortunatley Frontera Man hasnt seen the lighthearted sarcastic wit that Al and Shaun share and taken things too seriously, and as he has retorted the mickey taking has passed over to him as well.

No offence has been meant and both Lads thought it was apparent to anyone that reads othrer threads that they are great mates and a couple of jokers.

Sorry you felt the need to call them "d*** He**s" Frontera Man, but hope you can see the humour now it has been explained to you.

Angieg (Big Al's Wife and Reedriders Mate)

HI Grumpy01,

I agree with you 100% but there is more Vauxhall on the Frontera than you think especially on the later Frontera A's (96 on) and the Frontera B. The 2.0 sport even from day one had a Vauxhall Cavalier engine in it with an Isuzu gearbox and the 2.2 is from the Vectra, Astra range. The reason people sl*g of Vauxhall is because they are jealous that we've got something better than them. In the case of the Frontera, they sl*g it off because they are p'ed off that they paid loads more for a vehicle which doesn't do the job any better than the Frontera - in fact the Frontera most likely does it better but we won't start another heated debate.

By the way I appologise to everyone (including reerider) who may have been offended by my comments on the parking issue. I like Grumpy get p*ssed off with everyone sl*gging off Vauxhall's

Angieg, i am sure if all the Frontera owners on this site continuly took the 'micheal' out of your Mitsy's you would get VERY p%%%%%d off as well. A little restrant is called for.

Fronteraman, the only bit on 01' plate 2.2dtl that appears to be Vauxhall on it is the engin the air filter box most of the drive train and other bits brakes ect all have Isuzu on or is it just mine!!

Pmsl at u lot!!

You know you've all got it wrong don't you? The mondeo as a family car is by far better than these huge monstrosities you lot are driving around in. When we get stuck in the mud with a caravan on the back we do it deliberately to see which lot of you 4 x 4 drivers are the most generous in spirit - who will help us out in our hour of supposed need?? Would it be the jap crap vehicles or the discos or fronteras or any other make of 4 x 4? I'm running an ongoing experiment purely to find out who has the most helpful nature, as I'm sure are a lot of car owners

I have pulled more than 1 Family saloon out of the mud. The look on the poor owners face is worth a fortune when the mud hits the front of there car as we hit the hard stuff... Hope you keep the towing eye handy nothing worse that a little mud in the rep-mobile..

The Vauxhall Frontera is an Isuzu design that was manufactured in the GM Light trucks factory at Luton.

LWB Frontera is the Isuzu Rodeo
SWB Frontera is the Isuzu Amigo
Frontera Sport is the Isuzu Mu.

I don't know about the engines in the Frontera, but the diesels are probably Isuzu (the Cavalier diesel was Isuzu, IIRC)
