I was offered either a refund, or move my booking from this April. I thought I would move it to next year as it starts to fill in the year. I think the CCC will keep it at the same price.
I had already booked for January next year as our time away fits round other commitments.

You are probably right about the C&CC prices John.
I suppose it's one of the advantages of being retired that we tend to book late. The only commitments we have really are those of our own choosing. It was probably different for us when we still had family at home but that's a long time ago now.

I'm retired but am involved in a lot of church things including leading services on a lot of Sundays. I try to sort out holidays well in advance to make sure we get them.

Not sure how I feel on this one. It seems this horrible thing gets worse again as soon as restrictions are lifted. Therefor locked borders may sadly be practical for some time. However that is purely from a practical point of view and must be weighed against us getting back to the freedom we have all enjoyed in the western world.
To be ho honest I had not ever really given it enough thought in the past as to how lucky we all are. Being able to just decide I want to go from X to Y and just doing it. I think I have had a tiny taste of what it must be like for some poor people in repressive regime’s all the time and I feel so lucky not to be one of them.
A real eye opener for me.
