As my last post says i felt i could no longer cope with the non stop moaning from our neighbours. Now we have the caravan we are actually pleased we changed from the fc. It is more useable in the wet weather we seem to never endingly endure. It has a real shower room and central heating and an oven and everything The neighbours all moaned that there was nowhere for them to park on the road because my car was on the road and our fc was on the drive . All those moaning have driveways and garages so i could not understand why they moan so much. Could only be the green eyed monster in my opinion! Now we have 2 cars, 1 on the drive and 1 on the road, so they still have nowhere to park (except their own drives lol), my wife can park on the drive and get kids out of car in safety, plus the almost invisable fc has been replaced by a big ugly white box on wheels that is a regular visitor to our street lol. So now moaners have something to moan about!! Up the campers

Oooo Noooo!   You must not call your caravan a big ugly white box!

We think ours is lovely, and it is SILVER!!!

No complaints from our neighbours.

We are looking to move house within the year. High on the wish list is good access to the back garden for the caravan and covenant free. If it's out of the neighbours sight then hopefully no complaints.

It's tough to find something suitable as most modern houses these days are squashed together with barely enough space to park a car.

When we brought our new caravan home for the first time we invited the next door neighbour to view our caravan. We then explained that we would be keeping it in storage except when we were due to go away with it.  We felt that it was a bit of an eyesore for her and as she's a lovely lady we didn't want to upset her.

She said to us, "why don't you just keep it down your drive? It doesn't bother me"

Its now kept on the drive!

Its nice having good neighbours!

That is our problem too, so meantime we are staying where we are and hoping they do something about the Council Tax soon.

By the amount of controversy caravans and camper vans on private driveways cause it is amazing that local councils do not provide some local cheap and secure storage sites for the said vehicles. Then campers get a cheap secure place to store their pride and joy, plus all the moaning neighbours would be kept happy. Everybody would be a winner! Instead we live in fear of our campers and caravans being vandalised by upset neighbours, or stump up £500 or so per year for our own peace of mind.

We cannot park our van near oure home, we came home two years ago and parked it ouside for a few hours, first thing I knew was the old bat across the road shouting.

Get that Bl**dy thing out of there, you cant park that Gd Dm thing here, I will call the police, and it got much worse before I responded in the same tongue, when the green mist settled I had a look at her view, she was upset that the only window she can see straight into was ours and she couldnt see because the van broke her view.

Some people have nothing better to do.

Storage for £200 a year? You pay more than that for a farmer to store your van with no security whatsoever here in the south of england. My £500 figure is for a caossa gold site. May be a bit more cash but my van is as safe as a church..... Plus the hatred from the neighbours cannot cause my van to 'myseriously' get damaged in the middle of the night! Plus i still get to bring it home now and then just to annoy them all lol. If they had been ok about our ex fc there would never have been a caravan in our posession so because they moaned like mad about it i now make sure they know we got a caravan now by letting them stare at it for a day at a time!

They are just jealous of you - cos you've got a holiday home and they have not.

I park my caravan on my drive. Had no problems whatsoever. However I am an end-terrace type and my drive is opposite side of party wall.

My last property had a covenant I believe forbidding all owners not to park boats, caravans, trailers on their own property. I thought it a bloody cheek at the time but put up with it as at that time not into camping etc.

I did make sure before I purchased current property that I was okay to site caravan on my drive.

I hope your neighbour eases off and you continue to have your caravan where you choose - at home.

Gray.
