I recently bought a new Bailey 510/4 and was advised by the dealer it would be cheaper for me to buy the spare wheel, and get a tyre from a tyre dealer.
Now I find that the local dealers cannot get the tyre from their suppliers.
Any suggestions ?
PS the caravan dealer is about 50 miles away
To begin with, I thought all new baileys came with a spare wheel & carrier as standard. If however your dealer can't sort this for you I suggest you go to your local Kwikfit centre, they supply our bailey dealer with is tyre services so shoud be able to help you. ATS should be able to do the job. To be honest, any national tyre firm has acess to a national delivery service & therefore should be able to supply you. I'd suggest you call several companies for a quote though, some of them will sense a licence to print money.
You're not far from bristol where baileys are made & cosidering the number of tyres they consume on new build there must be a large number of caravan tyres bubbling round the area somewhere.
The way I see this is simple, if you went to them wanting an odd big tyre for a car, they'd have one in a few hours so why is it dfferent with a caravan tyre.
If you go to a big firm & they say they can't get it, ask to speak to the area rep & get him to get on the case.
