Although we have a light attached to the van for the awning I find its not very bright. I am looking for some garden/party lights to drape around the poles of the awning so that if we want to sit in the awning and have a drink at night we can. Does anybody know where I get some?
There are some party lantern lights on offer in Argos at the moment for £6.49 instead of £9.99 but I 'm not sure they would be bright enough.
We use a camping strip light about 12 or 14 inches long hung from the awning centre roof pole, wire drops down and into the battery compartment which in my case is on the awning side. It provides enough light for our awning with little battery drain.

We use a low energy lamp with a conventional shade, hung from the centre roof pole. The awning light is too dull, and the one we use is a bit stark. We are considering going back to a table lamp, which tends to give a more rosy glow (subject to choice of shade).
Have you tried looking at what wattage bulbs are in existing attached to the van awning light. When i bought van i have light was very dim. I opened it up and found a 5 watt bulb and one bulb missing. Looked up online, model of awning light and found I could have 2 x 10 watt bulbs, made a difference to brightness.

We just have one of those clip on reading lights and plug it in in the caravan, it is good because it is very flexible and we can put it wherever needed.
