We've got three children the youngest being three. She's always slept great when we've gone camping, we have always put her in a travel cot and added layers of blankets as needed to keep her warm. Did buy her a sleeping bag but just to bulky for the cot. This year will be more difficult as she's now to big for the T.C. If only she was still that tiny baby, so much easier!!!

Penny.

Little Scamp first camped (in a folder camper with no fitted heating) at 4 weeks old.  She always slept in a travel cot - I used to put a cellular cot blanket (those with the holes in) right over the top - kept beasties at bay in summer and added extra insulation without over-warming when nights were cool.  I used sterilising bags - plastic bags that hang up - they come with the sterilising tablets in and you just fill them with cold water and use like a cold-water sterilising tank at home (not that I had much to sterilise - LS was breast-fed, and I never sterilised the bowls and spoons for solid food).  As for bathing - how dirty can a tiny baby get?!!!  For short breaks, you can easily get away with just washing the 'important little places' and not worry about a bath - humans survived thousands of years without bathing babies every day, so yours won't suffer from a couple of bath-free days!!  As we are rally-goers rather than going to sites with facilities, I never actually camped on a site with a toilet block, never mind mains hook-up or baby room when Little Scamp was small and she's now 15, so lack of proper baths didn't harm her!!  Just relax and enjoy the time away - baby with love it.

Went away with 4 month old son last weekend, Used the shower base as a bath, just the right height for a young one. The sink plug fitted into drain hole a treat. Also it was the first time we put our 4 year old in the top bunk, she loved it which freed up the bottom bunk to put the Pram cot onto on a night time keeping the walkway free.
