You may need some leveling blocks, mayday cover on your outfit not forgetting a bottle opener for the wine, some deck chairs to snooze in the sun on and sun tan lotion. But apart from the luxuries I can't think of much more.

How about a step, and some soluble loo roll if you've a Porta Potti or cassette toilet?

Both make life just that little bit easier!!

We also make sure we've got spare caravan bulbs - internal and external, as well as fuses.  A basic tool kit is also a good thing to have with you, together with sewing kit, sticky tape, glue - you never know!

I'm sure others will be along soon with more exciting suggestions!

Enjoy!

brumfanatic, You'll be fine honest, you have mentioned the essentials, water pump is another from the aquaroll to the van, spanner for the gas bottle, small spirit level to put inside the van door to make sure everything is level before lowering the legs. Just go with it mate, and have a fantastic time

Towels and tea towels that stay in the van.  Washing up liquid, anti-bac spray/wipes for kitchen and soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes for the bathroom.  An oven glove is another useful thing.  All these things are often forgotten and it's much easier to buy them especially for the van and leave them in it.  Basic first aid kit is'nt a bad idea either.

The way I originally sorted out what I needed for the van was to write down everything I put in the van that I thought I needed.  When I got back home, I then took things out that were'nt used and crossed them off the list.  After a few trips I had, what seemed to be, the right things.

Things I prefer to have 2 of are: 2 leisure batteries and 2 gas bottles.  That way you won't run out of power or gas so long as you remember to charge or refill as necessary

Anything that you think goes wrong just think what the heck and put it down to having learned something.

Enjoy yourselves, that's the main thing

Jazzycats.

There's always something you'll forget... it's not the end of the world and there'll usually be somebody who'll help/let you borrow, or know where you can buy whatever it is.

The most important thing we forgot (shock, horror) was a corkscrew

Wheel clamp and Hitch lock to keep your insurer happy.

Oh, and yes, Insurance.

Pots & pans - adaptor for hook up lead to plug into the plug socket before you set off to get your fridge cool.

Don't buy the expensive soluble toilet paper.  We use standard Charmin paper, as available at supermarkets, and have never had a problem.   For the kettle, we have a standard kitchen sized one, but only 1700 watts.   Don't forget the toaster; we bought ours from Tesco for £4.97

Bertie.
