Hi, I need to know a rough idea of the price for a 1998 stirling starlight 4 berth with end bathroom. Made by swift and look very like challenger 520 with side bunks and end bathroom. Also a 1998 sterling eccles with same layout, and isabella awning.

hi have you tried a search on e-bay, especially the completed listings, this gives you an idea of what people are willing to pay up to..

cant see too many disparities over the price range of the two, apart from the awning which may add a bit, I guess you are looking at the one on e-bay right now..?

Hi Yes, i was that highest bidder but reserve not met. Seller emailed saying dealer offered him £4750 cash. I've been watching ebay alot and i thought they seem to be going between 4k & 4.5K depending on extra's condition etc?

Saw one in dealers over weekend at £5600 with warrenty

what do you think,don't want to pay over the odds

hi it sounds a lot of van, but as to price I would find it very difficult to price, I have just started caravanning, and  I know time is closing fast, perhaps go for it with what you are comfy to pay, or keep looking around, there are bargains to be had, have a look here

That is the same as a Sterling Eccles Emerald, like we have.  For the basic van, private sale , £4899 is quoted on caravanpriceguide.  Dealer price £5950.

Just looked at the listing, similar layout to ours, a few small differences.  Our upholstery and bathroom are nicer!!!

Thanks for all your replys, could be worth looking at dealers then? if there's only £1000 difference, at least I'd have some warrenty and comeback if something was wrong.  They may also take my 97 marauder off my hands at the same time.

Thanks for everyone's comments, we picked up our new van, layout we wanted, close to home, 1999 Sterling europa 520 on Sunday with all the extras for £4000. We (and all our caravan friends) have looked it over and over and over and can't find anything wrong or not working and for that price we can afford a minor problem or two. We are so excited and can't wait for the weekend or the one after or the one after that.
