We had this last weekend and survived!!

Go thorough the van hook up to electric and check everything is working, check you have enough gas. Make a list of van items and personal items you will need and tick things off as you go. Allow enought time to get the noseweight sorted it took us a while, but now we know where to load everything for next time. Ensure once you have your noseweight correct that you secure everything.

Allow extra journey time. Pull over after a few miles and do an all round check. Keep the torque wrench handy in the car to check the wheels, check them before you set off dealers often let you drive off without them being tight enough. We found this!! Also ensure you have a spare with you.

If it is late when you arrive just get the van set up and do the awning the following day (it is an aggrivating job when you are tired).

Do not stress! set up on site took us 30min compared to 4 hours to get loaded at which point we were cursing buying the thing. The first journey towing was a bit tense, so plan some breaks and you'll be fine.

Well, thought I would reply on how things went!

We have actually been away in the van 2 weeks on the trot since I started this thread.  I'm still with the OH but only just!!!

Although the packing and setting up is a little stressful, although I think this is just because we are getting used to it, it is so relaxing when this is done.

The first weekend we spent at a CC site but last weekend we went to a CL.  Very nice ust having one other caravan onsite, although we had to hide from our neighbour a couple of times because he was V. friendly!!
