Hi Wayne, from my own experience when looking at vans the Swift Challengers tended to be the ones that suffered the most damp. The ones we were looking at were 90's models so don't know wether and 80's model would have been better built. I found the worst places for damp was above the front windows and around the awning rails. Take a damp meter with you.

I have a 520/5t Challanger and i,am in the atemps of repairing the major damp problems i,ve got. I,ve replaced the back end of the van on the n/side and under the back window and my next task is the roof from front to the tiolet and shower.I think the rain has got in through the roof strip at the front and the sky lights,so if I was you make sure you check these areas for signs of softnes and damp.

I had a 5 berth Swift challenger, think it was around a 1989, it was great very dry and solid I loved it, just upgraded cos a mate was selling her Avondale cheap or we would still have the swift!!
