It will I'm sure be Britax and probably an external 12 volt connection, I would expect it to be a 1/2" diameter hole with what you discribe at the bottom.

If I'm right then the plugs are now available from many dealers

Thanks Gary that sounds more like it and without meaning to sound dumb what connects to it, a battery?? can you elaborate for me please ie its potential uses??

I had one in my charger panel in a 1980 van!, yours will be connected to the battery via the wiring loom unless it's been disconnected? Outer of the hole is earth and the connection at the bottom is positive much like a cigar lighter in the car.

Uses are whatever you want to plug in,  their at least 5amps possibly 10amp rated.
