Have the Travelling community spot it. Just kidding .

Maybe look through past threads on generators and find an answer :

We had a friend that built his a cage and then waterproof padded fabric over it, just left a gap for the exhaust fumes. It was a Honder so quite quiet anyway.

Hi, Mine had a box built with a hinged lid and holes drilled all round it. The exhaust had a large hole for the fumes to escape and it made it much quieter. It wasn't too bad to start with, being a Honda ex 650. We had to keep a regular check on it for overheating but it never got hot really.....always turned it off at around 9.30pm.Kept asking other people if it caused a problem...never had a complaint.....

I find that placing my Honda 650 very close to one of my Land Rovers wheels helps to screen the noise in the "shadowed" area. Exhaust facing away from tyre and therefor also away from the shadow of course.
The heavy mass and compliance of the rubber offering quite good attenuation and without requiring any additional kit to carry.
Also try to make sure there are no objects that might reflect noise back towards critical areas.
