we use "S" hooks on the across rails not down ones no problem

We use the 5 hook hanger as above as they are pretty sturdy. We have a few sets and hang backpacks on the other to keep them off the floor / where we can find them.

If you bought some sort of clamp, jubilee clip? or similar as above - even some duck tape might do the job - to stop them sliding down the pole.

Slip a length of 15mm copper tube insulation over the pole & use ordinary hangers

We use a free standing hanging thing a bit like a rotary drier. I have tried without success to find it on Towsures site. It works well as a coat hangar and for drying towels etc.

We use two of these they are designed for what your are asking and are strong enough to hold wet or heavy jackets/coats.

When you post next time please loose the CAPS there is no need to shout.
