I am thinking of buying a caravan ,I drive a 18i astra what weight caravan would you recommend ? .Large 2 or 4 birth would be ideal .

We towed a 4 berth abi globetrotter weighed 750kg ,max 1050kg with an astra 1.6 sxi ,which towed fine but the 1.8 would tow alot better with this size caravan.My OH said he wouldnt go over 16ft with astra unless car was an estate.As for the berth it depends what ur needs are ! But we never had a problem !

We have a Astra 2.0 cdi and tow a 20ft (shipping length) Lunar clubman - not had any problems yet. It is less than 85% weight of car.

Swift Corniches in the late 80's early 90's are all arounf 1000kg max laden and maybe worth a look as they are spec'd out and common... although i am a little bias!
