I think if it was challenged in court Lunar may lose. Normally if you buy from a dealer there would be no issue. All the other items in the caravan such as fridge, heating, oven etc may be covered as they come under seperate warranties.

Bailey warranties are Not transferrable i can tell you!! We bought our bailey and then found out that the original 3 year warranty was void to 2nd owner but the 2 year extended warranty was transferrable but only starts at the end of the original void 3 year warranty did you get that? I know what i mean it might be worth finding out if the 1st owner has purchased any extended warranty
Is that the new Bailey policy? It changed last year and i thought that the warranties were now transferable in full, but only apply to caravans manufactured after a certain date ( which I happen to have forgotten)
I've just bought a 2006 bailey ranger - and sent off the form to bailey - got it back last week, confirming that the full warranty had been transferred over to me - so cannot comment on other manufacturers - only this one
3. The unexpired period of the 6 year body shell guarantee and the 3 year manufacturer's warranty on all models manufactured after 1st September 2005 is assignable to subsequent owners at a cost of £25, on condition that full documentary evidence that the caravan has been serviced annually can be provided at the time of transfer of ownership. Otherwise this agreement remains personal to the original purchaser of the tourer as new and is not transferable by way of assignment, novation or otherwise.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I am interested in a nearly new Lunar Ariva, and on a private ad a 2006 Ariva was advertised as having 27 months of warranty left.
A check with Lunar gave the response that warranties are NOT transferable to subsequent owners.
It seems for a fee of £25 most other caravan manufacturers will transfer warranty to the new owner as long as service work is done properly.
Can Lunar do this?
I was in a similar situation recently and also asked the same question of Lunar.
It's a complete cop out of their responsibilities in my opinion - a simple way to avoid any costs incurred by dealing with warranty issues. For my part I won't touch a Lunar until they change their policy.
