Really want to buy this van love it but some sites say my cars no good 2.2 auto zafira 2006 please help me make the right choice its a lot of money £13,555 plus never towed a van before only a very large trailer with side on then had a lid made giving us another 2ft
Kerbweight of car says 1485 kg and mtplm (laden weight) of eldiss is 1475kg.However site below says towing limit of car is 1400 kg. Check your handbook of car to check for definite.
If you do find out that you can tow it you may be interested in 1 am selling 2005 model brand new 2006 with extended warranty and service included, full dorema awning 2006 (burgundy) £9495 o.n.o. excellent condition and reasonably close to you hartlepool new van forces sale or part ex.
The site I used seems to be slightly different but either way as a person who has never towed a caravan before it would be better that he sticks to the 85% limit. Another thing to consider is, when did you pass your driving test, as this could also limit you if you passed after 1st January 1997

May 13 - Cala Gogo, St Cyprien (didn't go, hubby too ill to travel)
May 14 Ranc Davaine
August 14 Les Sablons
August 13 - Camping Playa Brava, Pals
We tow a Compass Omega 524 (same van!) and I would say be very careful as a relatively 'novice' tower pulling the 'van with a car so close to the limit (and so close to being 100% on weights) - the 524 is a long van (23 feet, including draw bar) and an awful lot of it, including that big bathroom, is behind the axles. If you do find that your car can pull the van (although from the What Two Car data quoted above, this is doubtful), please be very careful to pack it correctly. I don't want to put a dampener on your dream (524s are lovely vans - we wouldn't change ours, except possibly for a new one as they are slightly wider and have a huge outside cupboard!!), but I really don't want you to see your dream to end up in ditch either.
Thank you all for your help phoned car dealer and hand book said 1537 so still not sure but (why is their always a but in life) Bailey pagent champange is spot on 85%and cheaper so maybe thats the way to go
Find something a bit lighter, there are lighter vans out there, the Bailey ranger I think is one of them Micheal will tel you he has one, or get a larger tow car. It's not worth the risk and anyway it makes hard work of it if your car isn't up to it. We used to tow with our Rover but after getting the Maverick we really noticed the difference you don't know the vans there.
Husband will not let me change the car its only just 1 year old looked at bailey today NOT impressed at all it looks cheap and feels cheap looking for the Elddis 484 which is a 87% match so it looks as if this is what we will get .now do we get one this year or wait till N.E.C show and get even more for our money we hope.

Some of us are on a budget and can only afford old cars and CHEAP vans
You will always get more if you wait until next year .. or the year after .. or the year after that, but if you like it and can afford it then just buy it and enjoy it.
