Well done somersetsun I am glad you got there in the end. I wish I was the same ,I have spent 3 days trying to get my Lidl one working but to no avail !!.   IS IT ME OR THE GEAR ?   I kid you not I have tried everything a hundred times and have read every link I can see and still nothing.  After the first day I read everything and realised I was perhaps (this is at home) moving it too quickly and the second day methodically started it east and worked round to south very slowly about a couple of mm at a time and waiting at least 5 seconds between movements but still the screen says no signal !!! .  I have been pressing 1 and then display and this gives me the signal bars for astra 28.2 east but my understanding is that its not actually getting this Sat as that will still come up even when the coaxial cable is disconnected.  Is this correct ?  I have a compass and  I'm pretty sure I am pointing in the right area as looking around the area people with Sky are pointing in the same direction as I am trying. I live 20 miles south of Glasgow and understand the elivation should be about 22 degrees well I have tried around about this till vertical   but once again nothing. I have also redone the end of the cable to make sure they ok  My daughter took the set top box to her house and plugged it in to her sky dish and my tv and bingo it worked but not sure what satellite she got. Now this leaves two things that it could be my cable and LNB or me not getting it set up. I did at first blame myself but I have nothing in the path to obscure the signal and I have scanned it ever so slowly for so long at every angle surely I would have got something before now?,  I have two options one to take it back for a refund or two take it with me on holiday in a couple of weeks and see if some kind soul at a site takes pity on a poor sad pensioner and helps me with my problem so if you see a poor old 65 year old pulling his hair out much to the amusement of other caravannes with a Mondeo and Bailey Ranger please help him and stop him jumping in the nearest river in frustration.   Serously I would be grateful for any further input to my problem

Forget the 22 degrees malarky, that is to do with the angle teh signal is coming in from the Satellite.

Take a look at your neighboiurs sky dishes and you will probably see that is anything they are pointing slightly down

Depending on where we are sighted mt dish is either vertical od slightly tilting down

Finding a signal teh first time is a night mare but gets easier every time.

Brian

Are you sure that the dish supplied with the Lidl kit is big enough for Scotland?  64cm seems to be the requirement.

Interesting answer bellcam, they had over 30 in the store when I bought mine and I had seen a lot in another Lidl a few days later surely they would have a problem with people taking them back if they did not work up here in Scotland.   Anyway I will be going south in a couple of weeks so I will take it and try there at least I will be entertaining other caravan people with my antics if it doesn't work and it will make a change from watching people struggling with an awning eh ?   Brian T

Brian

If you get it working in Scotland or anywhere else for that matter, please let me know as  have not had a chance to try mine out yet.
