NEED SOME HELP PLEASE AS REGARDS TO COMPLETE CARAVAN COVERS..WHAT DO OTHER CARAVANERS THINK OF THEM?MYSELF I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT PROTECT VAN IN WINTER.KEEP ALL JOINTS PROTECTED.I NEED 13FT ONE IN TOWSURE ITS£80+£4.95 POSTAGE.SO NEED TO KNOW WHAT OTHERS THINK,POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE .MANY THANKS MIKE.

We covered ours last year as the van came with a cover so why not use it.  Bit of a pain to put on but it came out glistening whereas everybody else was scrubbing their vans for hours getting all the green off the roof etc.

We will definitely put it on again this winter.

welcome too,good and bad,some love them and with good reason they keep the van dry and clean.the top ones are breathable material.others hate them ,putting them on,scratching windows,removing paint on corners,not able to tie down fully,so you pays your money and takes your chance with a cover.see

Hi There. We had a cover made a for our previous caravn by Purpleline - cost almost £300! We then bought  a standard one for just under £100 from Towsure! Yes it was a little bit trickier to fit on but what a saving! Covers are well worth it in my opinion and whichever one you buy at whatever price it will protect yuour van

Hi there - bit of a laet reply but we got our cover from Barrons when we got the van, After washing and polishing our van my husband and I spent a good hour putting the cover on for the first time, although we spent the first 20 mins trying to decide which bit was the front!  We got it in the end. The cover is breathable and has zippers on each corner so that you can work on the front windows with the scratch remover or pack the van ready for a trip without totally removing the cover.  This is great for us as we have a tree at the end of our drive which drops sap, leaves and creepy crawly bugs all year round.  It's also good for keeping the sunlight out of the van, because the cover is on you don't need to leave the blinds down (which sprains the springs) and you don't need to close the curtains ( there will always be that chink of light that gets in somewhere and bleaches the edge of the curtains or the upholstery) but on a good sunny day enough light shines through the cover so that you can see inside if you are packing for a journey.  Call me crazy, but I start packing the van about a week in advance so that I am not washing and ironing just before a trip!

Slightly off topic - but do you leave the status ariel on (if fitted) and cover over it or take it off?

I use one  that is so so easy to put on by myself, it doesnt chaff the paintwork and never comes loose. you can put it on in a heavy gale all by yourself and if you want too you can tow your caravan with it on and not worry about it getting blown off

it is of course Fenwicks caravan over wintering that I use. I did consider a cover but found O.W. so easy to use and washes off a treat in the spring. 

We bought a Protec made to measure cover for our caravan, cost just over £300 and we were very pleased with it, its breathable, and it is one of the covers which Bailey say are not detrimental to the caravans, and we were really glad we did, it has a velcro opening by the door, so that you can go and check the inside, and everytime we went, we could see all the other caravans looking green and filfhy!  It gave us a really good feeling as we could see our van was pristine underneath.
