We picked up our new van last week and are absolutely thrilled. However, It is going back to the dealers very soon for a couple of things.
Very noisy water pump, even the floor vibrates when it in use!!!!
Water taken from taps tastes of milton and getting worse.
Status aerial worked fab when we got it, now suddenly not working and had to resort to good old fashioned aerial on a pole.
Before we take it in your advice and experience would be appreciated, so we are prepared for any excuses from the dealer.
Thanks
Bob

Bob, you will probably be told that you are not priming it properly or to put vaseline around the O ring, Both of which are a load of cobblers. This has been a running discussion with Bailey for a while, however, below is something I posted earlier which may help with your dealer. Whale are aware of this now as are Bailey, question is, will they recall the faulty pumps? Good luck with it, Agzy
We went to the CC national meet and, after registration, went straight to the Whale stand and told them of our very noisy Bailey fitted, Whale pump. Within a couple of hours two very nice Irish gentlemen arrived at my van saying that it would be the way I primed the system and maybe a slight adjustment here and there. Two and half hours later they accepted that my pump was faulty and indeed that the problem was inherent in the way the thing had been assembled as apparently two of four diaphragms were smaller than the other two. This, after a slow, section by section dismantleling of the complete unit. Eventually they replaced the main, upper part of the pump, changed the inlet hose for one with a smaller bore and replaced the left hand tap which controls the water flow to the on-board tank. They were meticulous in the way they carried out the job and said that although they had heard of the complaints about noise mine was the first pump that they had actually had brought to them for examination and repair. By the time they had finished the noise from the pump was just a murmur and, with seat down and cushions in place was almost
inaudible. Fantastic! So, the noise was not normal, quite the opposite, and it was not the case of a caravanner being used to an external pump refusing to get used to change. Now it may not be the same fault with all those noisy pumps out there but get it checked out just in case. Oh, and by the way, the new series 6 has the water flow options controlled by electronics rather than those silly handles and they have installed an automatic cut-off in the on board tank when it is full.
------------- I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

Yes when we picked ours up a couple of weeks ago, we found our pump was noisy they told us it's because it's an on board pump but after reading Agzy's post last night I have printed it off and will be taking it with us for them to rectify the few things that need doing to ours. Having said that some friends of ours have a Europa and that has always had a noisy pump so it's not just Baileys. Our water has a t.c.p. taste too and we are going to do it with puriclean to see if that rectifies it.
Bob does your bed stay up when lifted or do you have to hold it up when you get things from underneath?
Hi Janx, with regards to the tcp taste in water, we get the same, have
tried the usual Milton that has been recommended on here but it made
no difference, we now just have a container that we fill on site and use
for tea and drinking etc. I would be interested to see how you get on with
the Puriclean though

Update - the caravan is back from the dealers.
Water pump a little quieter and definately bearable now - they have put in 'sound deadening' between the pump and the floor.
Water - taste's like water again - no tcp taste at all.
Status - fixed aparently it had the wrong colour wire in!! not sure what that means.
MP3 player not fixed - apparently a warranty issue with Bailey our dealers are sorting this out.
Apart from all this we love the caravan.
Bob
