I assume that there have been numerous posts regarding failed gas regulators.

I can't find a post and I need advice.

I have a bailey 2005 and my Truma has failed.  Not under warranty, i have heard replacements have been bought and failed again.  My regulator is level with the top of the bottle so the flexi tube loops up and down. 

I have heard that the solution is that bottle is dirty gas, the regulator needs to be above bottle or failure with the regulator and need to buy modified truma regulator?

Any idea which solution has worked for other people?

I will need to get a gas fitter to extend the copper piping to the regulator higher up as not happy doing that job myself.

It is the new style regulator fitted to the caravan.  it is a bit risky bypassing it to the regulator on top of the bottle as it may disrupt the supply to the cooker/heaters etc which are configured to certain mbar pressures.

Don't mind forking out £40.00 for a new one but not if i have to do it every 3 months!

Regardless of the reasons why, it's my understanding all Truma products are guaranteed for two years which may be of help to you

The modification is to raise the regulator higher than the bottle outlet, this allows whatever is causing the problem to drain away from the regulator rather than into it.

I believe that Gary is correct in raising the regulator above the cylinders but my understanding is that the hose from the cylinder should enter at the bottom of the regulator thus allowing any carried over contamination to drain back down the hose into the cylinder.

Some hoses (leeching contaminants) are being blamed for the problem.
