We have bought a newer van and I want to look after it as much as possible. Are caravans a good idea and what size do I need. Our van takes a 8.70 full awning but the full length externally is around 15feet and including hitch etc 19.11 in length. Would I be looking at 15-17ft cover, and are the full covers better of half covers ??

Hello Luger,   I know it's each to our own and lots of peeps use covers but I never have. Caravans are better being used than being covered up. We use ours during the winter, even if only to air it out. I've seen damage done by covers that are loose and ties that flap in the wind.

not to be rude but you pays your money and chance it with a cover.a lot like them, some have had damage done by them, scratched windows and paint removed on corners.i would say a full cover is the best option.i enjoy cleaning ours to much to cover it.

I must admit I do always keep my van covered, it cost me a lot of money and I want it to stay nice, but as my van is stored out in the open, I find that the cover does keep the bird pooh off it, and stops the algy growing, I prefer a full cover, if your van is 15ft long excluding the A then go for 15/16 ft cover, you can get some good ones off Ebay, and also Towsure have a good price in their catologue, but as others have said because I think its good for me, doesnt follow that your needs are the same asa mine, but hope you have lots of enjoyment with your caravan

Hi Luger,

Don't know where you are located, but I have a 15-17 foot full cover bought for my Rialto. Never got round to using it as I have just changed to a larger van. If you live local you can come and see if it will suit your needs. My location is Kettering Northants. Contact is richardbuchan002 at hotmail.com

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Richard

I have a cover for my gobur but have been advised only to use it for winter months as it can damage fibreglass and the paint especially on the roof

Regards

John
