Nice bit of kit... had the use of a suitcase system last time i was out(friends) but i spend most of my time around mountain area's and couldnt get a clean line of sight, just hoping i can get some kind of signal with a normal aerial, do boosters help?
The satellite is by far the most reliable and with the digital switchover in my opinion is the only way to go. Freeview doesn't have sufficient coverage to be a viable alternative.
In Wales recently I tried my sat dish system for the fist time and all was fine untill it rained, at which point the picture kept breaking up or feezeing on certain channels.
If I ventured out and gave the dish a wipe the picture returned to normal for a while. I found this performance a little disappointing as I never had any such problems with the old analogue dish on the side of the house.
In most places in the UK I get excellent reception with my Status 315 using a £29 Freeview box with it
Before we got the freeview we more often than not got pretty good reception with the Status alone except in more remote or mountainous areas. I think some of the people who give the Status bad feedback are forgetting to switch it on at the booster or trying to use it without a booster altogether

That's an LNB fault. It's either out of skew or needs replacing. They're only £4 !
Bad doesnt even come close to describing the Status attenuator.
I even rang their customer services and he told me that even though I have had 4 vans with 4 different Status 315's which didnt work that they only had a couple of hundred complaints which doesnt bother them. They told me to contact my caravan manufacturer and ask them why they fitted 315's to all their vans ???????
I've covered the whole of the UK in recent years and never had problems with the standard Status aerial. I use an extra plug-in booster...sometimes Channel 5 isn't available!
As said a lot depends on how well all the coax cable connections have been made and whether the booster is switched on or actually working if it is. Even with everything as good as can be, the multi directional 315 is never going to out perform a directional aerial, best it can do is equal it when the signals strong enough.
Having said that and after all I'd heard, I didn't expect much from mine, only to find it works perfectly with all channels on freeview.

I`ll try replaceing it..........I thought (hoped) it would be something simple like that!
