Well we've just got back form our first outing in our caravan (at the Banbury Steam fair meet, well I say meet, we didn't meet anyone from UKCS at all!!) and both of our roof lights have decided to leak, the handles have come away from the plastic and water is coming in through the holes where they handles were fixed on. Anyone know of somewhere cheap we can get new or second hand ones from in Stratford-upon-Avon area??

We had quite a good time, apart from it being very wet and muddy and getting stuck on the way out. Husband decided not to wait and get towed through mud like everyone else, so we were stranded and then nobody would help us as he'd jumped the queue!  We also were surrounded by a few people who obviously could't rough it for a few days and had to take they're noisy generators and run them day and night! Very annoying.

If the handles are fastened with the plastic rivets and these have broken then just simply drill out the rivet tails in the roof light / handle then used silicon and self tapping screws to re-attach the handles.

I had the same fault on my old van and this worked a treat.

Flack :)

Had the same problem with my rear roof vent. Done the same as Flack said. Just drilled out the old rivets and some screws and sillicone and it was as good as new. No more leaks.
