Hi there,
Right this is a bit long winded but here goes......................
We have an Oyster Twin LNB motorised satellite dish installed on top of our motorhome, it's excellent and basically unless we are parked near a high building or a lot of trees we get a signal within seconds. Having a twin LNB dish means we can use a Sky Plus digi box in our motorhome and we have all the benefits of live pause and record facilities that you can enjoy with Sky Plus and we are able to enjoy the exact same full package as we have at home in our motorhome. If however, you are not interested in Sky Plus then an ordinary satellite dish will give you the normal Sky functions. To be able to use your Sky viewing card from home and get all the movie and sport channels that you have subscribed to in your home package you can do one of the 3 following things:
1) You can take your digi box from home and put it in your caravan/motorhome and then you will get the exact same package as you have at home but it means disconnecting all those wires etc every time you go away.
2) Buy a second digi box for the caravan and then get your card 'married' to that box every time you go away but remember to have it 'married' back to your home digi box when you return home or else you wont be able to view your full subscription on your home digi box.
3) If you have Sky Multi Room installed at home you will then have a second box and a second viewing card which allows you the same full package as your main box for only £10 per month and is generally put in another room in the house. You could in theory use that digi box and that card in your caravan. However, remember the conditions of use for the multi room package is that your box is connected to a telephone line so if you disconnect regularly Sky may eventually notice and then you could then be charged the full price for your second package.
I know it sounds complicated but it isn't really. The Sky viewing card you have at home is 'married' to its own digi box and therefore unless it is used in conjuction with that exact digi box then you will not be able to view the full package you pay for and if your card is used in another box it will only allow you to view the free channels not the channels you pay for. So basically you either take your home digi box with you every time you go away or you buy a second box for your caravan and just take your viewing card with you instead and then you ring sky and they will go through a proceedure that will marry your card to another digi box but remember when you return home your sky card wont then work in your home digi box then so you will have to ring sky again to have the card 'married' back to that box. Whatever you do - don't let on to Sky what you are doing as this I think breaches the conditions of use. I find that rather annoying as I feel if you have a caravan or motorhome you should be able to enjoy your full package wherever you are and if you are paying each month to use the Sky service you should be able to use it in your mobile home too but sadly Sky dont approve of this - so you have to be rather sneaky if you wish to use what you pay for at home in your caravan or motorhome.
Good luck and I hope I have explained it clearly enough. If you need further help or advice please do not hesitate to ask and I will do my best to help answer your questions.

Good info. from the last post...Can I add that if you do take out a multiroom £10 package you can take the second box with you. However, as Ive found out Sky do send you threatening letters about "breach of contract". I did find out that most of the dial back calls which Sky does to check up on you are carried out in the first 10 days of the month. So, try to avoid that period...if you do use your box then, make sure it is only for shortish periods ie weekends.
Be ware this also applies to power at your box. I fell foul of Sky when I was decorating the bedrrom and switched off my box. Same nasty letter.
Anyone out there can confirm this would be helpful?

Not strictly true.
If you read post #3. That is correct.
A sky viewer does not have to subscribe to premium channels. If you only subscribe to the 'entertainment' package, then the package you get at home will be exactly the same in any other Digibox without 'marrying' up. Just insert the card !

Didnt realise that Ronnie as we have the full movie and sport package and all I know is that we can only view all of the channels we subscribe to if our viewing card is 'married' to the digi box. However, what you have informed us of is useful to know, especially for anyone who has the entertainment package. By the way, what channels do you get with the entertainment package as I might be interested in changing to that in the future but I dont know if that is possible with Sky plus or not. I know some of the package options with Sky plus have changed recently and maybe we can opt for another package these days but when sky Plus first came out you had to have the full monty lol!
Thanks for the info.
