well we are supposed to be going to Thorntons Holt for 5 days from Friday but not sure if it will be safe to set off with the warnings of risk of heavy rain and flooding !! May risk it as we are desperate for a break after doing up our house for the last 5 months and it will be only the second outing this year.Anyone else off this weekend?

Oh poor you. What a dilema! Will it be a waste of money and so depressing that you wished you had stayed at home.... here in sunny Barnsley.

Anyway who needs to book a campsite with a swimming pool, here in Barnsley we all have our own private pools, in our back gardens:)

Joking aside Denise, hope it picks up for you all, we'll be thinking about you - just don't forget to take your wellies!

Yep we're going away too on Friday for the weekend to try out our new caravan. I think a phone call to the site beforehand to check they're not waterlogged might be an idea. I think we'll still go if the site is okay - it might rain, but having been tenters the idea of being in a caravan, even in the rain, is a bit of luxury! Beside, my life wouldn't be worth living if I had to tell my 5 year old that we weren't going - he's so excited! I just need to pack lots of indoor games.

Hi Sandra and welcome, we also live in Barnsley, we have cancelled our planned trip for this weekend and I have just discovered that the caravan door near the bunk bed has leaked and the bunk bed mattress is soaking wet. Soooooooooo fed up !!!!!!!
