What about the campsite at Tebay services on the M6 - a great place, and worth staying at just for the views?

I know laybys are not the best place to stay but just of the motorway at junction 15, turn left at the roundabout towards Newcastle and there is a huge off the road lay by on the right hand side. Close to residential area and opposite a hotel. I have seen a few caravans there in the past early morning, late night.

Why we are on the subject has anyone ever stayed on the Medway Services on the M2?

We are travelling from Arbroath in Scotland so its quite a drive.

Just had a look at Tebay services and it lookslike we will stay there overnight. Its four hours from Arbroath and two hours to Stoke roughly that it,not allowing for traffic.

So thank you all for  your replies Its been a great help.

Regards Annamarie
