Hi, Unfortunately the Earwig is a common outdoor species and you are putting your awning in its habitat, there will be very little stopping them. They do like dark damp areas, usually under the small perimeter skirt of the awning. Pesticides may damage the material of the awning and definitely damage the grass so please use with great care. If it is a long term siting, it may be worth putting down some sand under the perimeter. At least they are not INSIDE your caravan!
