We have a 1997 model and the rear beds appear to be a double with a bunk over the top. On eBay recenly there have been identical models but the bottom bed appears to be able to be made into a double or a single. We have fiddled about and cannot get ours to convert to a single, anyone know if this is possible or if some models differ.
i have a 1998 Elddis Crown Crest with a double bed configuration at the back. Take all of the seating off, and you should be left woth the exposed slats. I am sure that they simply slide bak into the seat facing the back wall. Check that the push studs are freed. My only other suggestion is that the previous owners may have secured it so it stays as a double. Although easily fixed I am sure. Do you not have the original Crown brochure? if not will have a look at mine to see if t shows the bed configuration.

Many thanks, no we don't have the original brochure, so I would be very grateful if you could look, we only use the top bunk and half of the double so having as a single would give us a lot more space.
o.k I have had a look at the brochure and it shows the Regent as a 4/5 berth with 2 double beds and bunk. On the flloor plan it has the rear beds running along the back of the van with a small table at the back, against the side? The double bed layout at the rear of the Regent looks almost exactly the same as mine. Therefore it should basically slide back against the rear of the van. Does this make sense?
As you stand at the front of the van, ( where the main seating converts to a double) our bunk and double are running against the side of the van opposite the washroom does that make sense? When it is seating there is a seat that goes against the back of the van and one that goes against the back of the kitchen and a table in the middle.
Hiya, ok if you stand facing the back of the van and kneel down you can pull the left hand side of the back seat base slats forward to joint up with the single seat and then just shufty the cushions around so that they fit.
Does that make sense? We use both of our double beds as neither is a double, the front is I think 4' 1" and the back one just 3' 9" and as we have a 6 foot bed at home we can't sleep together on either!
I used to have a 97 Crown Regent. The bed configuration was 2 doubles and a bunk, there was no option to make the rear bed into a single. Would have been good if it had done though as it would have mafe it a bit easier to get into the wet-room!!
You've got me thinking now as it was OH who said you could pull just one side of the back seat struts out but now I am not so sure! We will be back down at the van in the next couple of weeks I am sure so I will report back.
