Hi guys, can anyone shed any light on this...we have an abbey vogue 540 , 2006 model. It has a factory fitted sargeant AS210 mobile alarm system which we are having a bigggg headache with. Basically it keep going off, in transit, over speed bumps or bumpy roads and on a couple of occasions just as we are calmly driving along. The weird thing is it is always turned off when it goes off! Can anyone help? Our dealer is a long way away from where we live and is a bit useless to be honest, as its a sporadic problem we dont think they will take it seriously. we are also using the van a lot over the next month and dont want it to be off road for long.

As i said bizarrly it goes off when its not 'set' , we have checked the tilt sensor and its set in the middle.

any help much appreciated as we are quite noticeable when pulling into cc sites over speed bumps at the mo!!

One beeb for set ....two for unset....?? If it goes off when un-set it must need a bit of a seeing to.

Personally I always worry when we set ours in case it goes off whilst we are out and annoys fellow caravanners.

More worry!

Hi Fiona

I have the same alarm.

There are 2 reset procedures on it that might be worth trying them before taking it to your dealer.

Software reset

  • Locate the PIR
  • Locate the reset button (the left hand button when viewing the back of the PIR)
  • Using a pen tip or bent paperclip to press the button for 2 seconds or until the siren sounds.

Hardware reset

  • Locate the alarm base unit
  • disconnect the 12v supply (2 pin plug with red and black wires)
  • Remove the 4 mounting screws and turn the unit over and turn the red (battery) switch to off.
  • Wait 2 minutes for the PIR to completely shut down.
  • Turn the red switch on (the siren will give 2 beeps).
  • Reconnect the 12v supply plug.
  • Perform a software reset as above.

HTH

Paul
