can't help with the door but we have the 390 and we have sewn an additional guy rope half way down one of the sides and we tie this to the rear handle of the van - also we don't pull the awning all the way up on to the straight bit of the awning rail we leave about 6" of the thread on the upright bit of the rail this gives a better fit to the van and make sure you peg the rubber straps under the van too. Everyone is having the same problem with these awnings it seems - there are lots of threads about them.

I just had an idea about the sides flapping as I have the 260 version.

How about using a couple of pieces of velcro sewn onto the flap and stuck on the side of the van?  Shouldn't damage the van in any way and won't look too obvious.

The other alternative is to use brown parcel tape but that can get messy.

Make sure you peg it as far under the van as you can too.  We find if we are on a grass pitch and do this it is much better - loads of hassle on the hardstandings though and involves bungies and concrete blocks!

Erm, well we have just had a very wet and very windy fortnight in Devon with ours up for the whole of the time we were there and we didn't have any trouble at all.  We didn't even have to redo the pegs, it stood absolutely rock solid.
