For years I have had my breakdown cover with the caravan club. I have been under the illusion I would get the Double journey cover but I have only just noticed the clause. “If your vehicle breaks down on the way to a pre-booked caravan site, then Mayday will get you, your car or motorhome and your caravan or trailer tent to site so you can still have your holiday. Your vehicle will then be taken to the nearest garage so that it can be repaired for the journey home. If that is not possible, Mayday will get you and your vehicles back home again after your holiday.” It’s the pre-booked bit that gets me, as I attend a lot of rallies that aren’t booked this means the insurance is not as good for me as I first thought. So what’s the C&CC Arrival like and what’s the cost and are there any clauses I should know of
Dunno - we've needed Arrival 3 times in 15 years of membership and they have been brilliant but for various reasons, although each time we have been on our way somewhere, we have had to come home instead of carrying on to our destination.

Well I cant find much info on the arrival scheme like what do you actually get for your money, and how much does it cost? Do I have to phone the sales line to find out

I looked at this page before but thought it a bit vague.
Well I rang the RAC number on the link but I got put on hold and hung up after 10 minutes, so anyone know how much the Camping & Caravanning Club Arrival actually costs?
I called the RAC twice while I was with them. The first time I was told I was not covered as I was towing. The second time, I was told someone would be with me within the hour as I was stopped in a dangerous position. Two hours later someone arrived. He really didn't have a clue and turned up with a vehicle unsuitable for towing an automatic. Only used Mayday once. and it was at 5 am. The telephone operator stated to ensure they sent a suitable vehicle she needed to know if I had a trailer (which I didn't) and if my car was an automatic. They came out with a flat bed lorry within 10 minutes and took me straight to work. They offered to take me home or to a garage of my choice, but since my tools were in work along with a spare alternator I asked to go there. While they did not attempt to fix the car, I was quite happy with that as I had already diagnosed the fault myself and new I had a replacement part which I told the man on his arrival.
The Arrival package with RAC (for C & C C members) gives better cover than normal RAC. There is no limit on length of motorhome or caravan and it covers older vehicles abroad. And it is cheaper.
