does anyone out there put their awning on the other side of their caravan. my other half thinks this would be a good idea. do caravan sites actually allow you to do this? i wouldnt want everyone looking at us thinking we are crazy!

I have done it but we used it for shade and not to sleep in. You need to be aware that the vents/inlets/outlets for Fridges, heaters etc are often on the offside so it may fill with fumes and not be safe to sleep in

If you have an awning rail on both sides of van and don't mind having to walk around van to use it why not,Thats what i say!

our fridge and cooker are on the normal awning side, ive never really thought about that, our 12 year old often sleeps in the awning as well. but the fire vents out of the roof and we never use the other appliances on gas anyway. only the oven, does that vent out of the roof too?

thats what i need to do somewere to store bikes etc. we never eat in the caravan always in the awning but there is always toys and stuff in the way.

I do it all the time the door of my van is on the european side. Never had a problem with objections to the awning.
