In a week or so we will be moving house from south yorkshire to South Shields, our van is going up this weekend as there is a storage place 3 miles from our new house, however, a week after that we will be wizzing back southwards on our jollies to St Ives in Cornwall, this is going to be one heck of a long journey with two children aged 8 and 5, does anyone have any ideas as to where we could possibly pull in en-route, put down the legs and have a sleep before continuing (as cheaply as possible)
thanks all
Ellie (and the gang)

Hi Ellie, which route are you taking? There is a cheap site called Dunston Heath Farm near Stafford, junction 13 of the M6 if that's any use. Has fishing lakes though so you would have to watch your children.
Discounted Insurance Quotes for UKCampsite.co.uk visitors! Up to 12.5% off!
Would have to watch my hubby too - he would spend the holiday on the banks, fishing rod in hand!!!
Think we usually go as far as birmingham, then head south west towards south wales and then down the last leg towards exeter and beyond, but will bear the above in mind - thanks.

There is a great site in Studley, warwickshire just off main A435, You get off M42 at junction 3, head towards redditch (A435), Stop overnight £6 / night then carry on A435, A46 (Mainly dual carriageway) and get on M5 at junction 9 tewkesbury (will also shave a few miles off your journey) No toilet block but got electric and Chemical disposal point
Its called elmdale caravan park, Think its in the camping and caravanning club book! We store our van there and occasionaly stop there just for a random break!

Hi there Ellie and gang....If you are members of the c.c. have you looked in the sites directory book for a c.l. for the night? This year we are stopping on one, on our journey down to the SUN?! ( Cornwall ) . Its only cost £6.00 for the night complete with e.h.u. What a bargain!!

i would have thought youd be better looking for somewhere inthe glousster area, thats roughly half way, cant think of any sites at the moment but i am sure there are plenty, just remember that around bristol the roads can be very bad, so suggest that you try most of your journey during the night, that way is far better as its what most of us lot tend to do and the kids sleep in the car most of the way.
