Hi ,

i have read the thread on the message board to try and decipher the pressure for my tyres.  However using the calculation it comes out at 74 psi...which can't be right!!

from the internet i have found that my caravan weighs about 780 kg, its only little.  my tyres says max pressure of 375 at max psi of 36.

Can anyone shed some light?

Straight away, assuming your guess at the weight is correct, means the tyres are overloaded, 375kgx2 = 750kg!. I can also say this van varied from about 700kg to a little over 900kg depending on year and model.

First then you need to find out what it does weigh and fit some tyres that are adequate to carry that weight, seems to me what you have at the moment is a pair of cheap car tyres.

The calculation BTW should give you 37.5psi and again obviously to much for these tyres.

The Sprite manual says , Sprite Alpine 2 ,  Ex works weight 620kg , Max design weight 850kg .
Tyres 155SR x 13 , Tyre pressure 35psi .
