Hiya Lorraine, just a quick minute tonight....I haven't had time to mail you yet.. Adams been in hospital, hes home now but no better so looks like a trip back up!. He's had bad stomach pains since coming home from work early Monday. I took him to emergency doctors but ended up in casualty.. anyway to cut short they gave him painkillers 7 sent him home. He's not usualy poorly type & sais he feels he might need to go back up. Hes gone to lay down a bit, so i'm having 2 mins on here.
I'm glad you've got some storage sorted, that'll have made your day . Who you insured with?? I need to sort ours out.
Thanks Lozzie - had a chat with hubby last night and it is probably easier for us to leave at Sheffield as we are near motorway at both ends and it only take 20 to 25 mins to go and pick it up and if we are on our way south we just do it on the way. The Bessecar site would probably take almost as long to arrive at. We pay £280 and also get reduced insurance.
Hope Adams alright Grumbleflick - strangly enough a colleagues daughther is suffering the same and has been sent home from A & E twice with pain killers. Doctor now seems to be doing somthing to try and get to bottom of problem.

Hiya all.
Thanks Galley Wench, Adams finally home... He asked me to take him back up the morning after so i knew he must have been poorly, hes not usually a moaner. They kept him in & put him straight on a drip as he was dehydrated. He was also given morphine cos pain was so bad. Anyway 2 weeks after starting to be poorly he's had a camera down & he's got gastritis & severe oesophagitis. I've never heard of them, but hes on 5 tablet 4 times a day. He says hes not in as much pain but its bearable. Anyway, the Dr says hes young to have this complaint & he needs to go back to discuss his options but most likely needs surgery on his stomach cos if not it'll flare up for the rest of his life.
We had to cancel our hols to Paignton last week & should be at Greensprings this weekend but he doesn't feel up to it. Todays the first day hes been out of house, we visited friends at greensprings but he now feels even worse cos we couldn't go. I told him never mind theres always other times. We're off to Lincoln tommorow, my parents have boat there so he can relax & get a bit of fresh air.
I'm from Good old Barnsley Too - our caravan is in storage at West Melton. It's a pretty secure site and had no problems with flooding when Rotherham had all that rain a couple of months ago - unlike a friend's whose brand new caravan was in storage at Mexborough and was totally ruined.
If possible, I would advise anyone looking for storage in Barnsley to call in at the storage compounds rather than ringing up. We telephoned first and were told they were full and had a waiting list, then hubby called in when passing a few days later and hey presto! they had a vacancy.
Hiya Cockerspadgers,
Barnsley folk keep popping up on here, someones bound to end up knowing someone else!
I work almost next door to the west melton storage - (i bet i can see your van from my office window )& we didn't have any flooding at work but i was stranded at work because the roundabout at Brewsters was closed due to the floods.
I like your Toby Tyke gallery pic. (god that shows how nosey i am , i always look at other peeps gallery).
hello all back from Spain, sorry to hear Grumbleflick about Adam, hope he is feeling a little better ! a boat trip might just do the trick to cheer him up abit, and at least Barnsley won on saturday !!!!!!! take care to all the Barnsley folk see you all soon Lozzie x

Hi lozzie, don't worry about feeling a traitor to The Barnsley - my daughter supports Barcelona too - she has 2 shirts - got her first about 2 years ago and a new one in June this year when we visited friends in Spain - Barcelona and Real Madrid were playing for the championship (but not against each other) & Real Madrid won - the atmostphere on the streets was electric.
We're in Dodworth - not too far from you in Birdwell. Sunburnden (a friend of ours) who had replied to this thread earlier lived in Birdwell until the beginning of this year - no doubt she'll be posting a reply to this thread soon.
hello cockerspadgers what a small world i use to be the landlady of the station pub (top house) in Dodworth and my partner lived on Baslow Cres thats how we met 17 years ago.....hope you dont remeber me,,,,,only joking !!!!! we ran away together !!!!

We've been in that pub a few times lozzie, not 17 years ago though - we lived near the hospital at that time. We lived at the top of Dodworth Bottom when we first got married in 1981, we then moved near the hospital at Pogmoor in 1985 and then moved back to Dodworth, near Brooklands, in 2000 - great place to live! Think our old neighbours Lewis & Linda once ran that pub, many moons ago!
