Hi all

Moving from camping to caravaning but I don't really know which are the best manufacturers?single or double axel? and which models are good for a family van.

I have two kids, 2 and 4 so need somewhere for them to sleep

Looking to spend between 2k and 5k needs to be dry, warm and reliable.

Can any one please give me some pointers

I'd go for a good sized 5 berth with two singles (or double) at the front end and a double at the back with a bunk above.  Very versitile layout for anyone with a family.  Some have a door to separate off the rear bedroom area, which is also useful if you need some privacy or just want to put the kids to bed and close the door.

As for manufacturers, they all seem to have their faults so it's just a question of personal preference really and finding a van suitable and in good condition.

Thats exactly what we did - our children are 3 & 4. We also went for an end partition / door, that can be pulled across the rear bed area, as it gives us some privacy when the kids are sleep. We have also found the children love this as well as it is there own space.

We had a "small" towcar so were restricted a little and bought an Avondale Dart 510 (mainly because it came with everything we needed) but i'm pretty sure the Bailey Ranger (also a lightweight van) is a similar spec.
