I am 26 and my OH is 23 and we love the whole campig thing. We started off in a cheap caravan but then outgrew it so I insisted on my portable bungalow ( as we have 4 kids 7,6,5 and 2) I absolutely love my tent the kids love it and so does OH, we go every couple of weeks on weekends as I must say camping is extremely enjoyable and very cheap, don't get me wrong we do the whole Butlins thing for a Christmas treat but wouldn't be able to afford to go as often as we do without the tent.

I understand the looks people often comment that we must be mad camping with 4 young children, but at the end of the day they love it and all the hiking we do it keeping em fit and off the gogle box at home.

No I'm not a fitness freak we just love simple things when away from home and all the fresh air. I think we need a break from all the commercial things in life and to get away from computers ( as you can guess I work with pc's all day lol)

Ohhh I've written an essay without realising LoL.

We should all have a big meetup and a good drinky.

Cheers Tabby, Dwell and little angels.

I do find sometimes people avoid me , but most of the time caravaners are a friendly bunch , i do say good morning , afternoon and evening , sometimes i'm ignored or on our last holiday i was met with a grunt by one happy camper . Most do say goodmorning back .
I've come up with a great new way of getting to chat to others when on sites , i walk round the site and look for someone by their caravan , then i think of a question about their caravan , the weather , journey etc , then walk over and pop the question , so far it's worked really well and i've had some great conversations . On a trip to the loo's i was gone for one and a half hours , well i got chatting on the way back , my wife thought i'd got super glued to the bog and was about to send out a search party for me .

We have had discussions on old caravans being out of place on sites and other discussions in a similar vein.  Why are people so worry about what others think of them?  Life is too short to worry about what other people think of you.  Stuff them and get on with your enjoyment in whatever way fancies you.  We do!

Well done for being a young caravan'er, my wife and I are in our late 30's and like to think that we are young at heart. I have been camping (and now caravaning) all of my 38 years on this earth and still love it,so do my 3 boys aged 3 to 9 years. Some people dont speak some do, some are up their own ***** and some are down to earth, my advice is if they can't be bothered to make polite conversation or look down their nose at you for what ever reason (your age or what you tow with) then their not worth bothering with. You just enjoy yourselves and make the most of it.

My son, aged 21, is camping at the moment, and has talked about buying a cheap caravan for next year, and taking a towing course.  He's been with us on holiday (though in a pup tent recently), even as an adult, and just loves campsite life (and hates flying!!!).  All in all this seems a very sensible decision - just hope he can find a van he likes, and then I expect it will be down to me to make covers and curtains, and David to add sockets, sort out problems etc!!!!   Still, better than him borrowing ours all the time!
