You should complain in writing to the CC - after all - we all use the CC sites and C&CC sites because we expect them to be run properly and to be the kind of sites where this sort of behaviour is not tolerated.  The warden should have sorted it out straightaway and asked them to leave if it was as bad as you say, and should never have allowed them to pitch/park other than in a designated pitch, for safety reasons if nothing else.

Perhaps it would be best to use members only sites

I agree the Wardens should use their powers more, after all it is their job to see that the site is a happy and safe place to be.

In which case, a complaint in writing to CC is definitely in order.  If the wardens can confirm to the CC what you have said here about their behaviour etc. they should be able to remove them from the Caravan Club or at the very least, let them know their behaviour is not acceptable and give them a "yellow card" so to speak.

After all, these sites are expensive and we all pay the extra expecting a peaceful holiday with the rules being enforced for everyone concerned.

It's a pity that extreme measures are ever needed, but Peace wreckers are a feature of most sites at one time or another. They can appear as if by by magic (usually on the next pitch) wherever you are.The effect they have on everybody else depends on the site. Two of the ones we regularly visit have wardens. The first warns them politely the first time, firmly the second, and orders them off site if they still continue.
The second issues one warning only.If it is ignored, hookup power to the offending pitch/es is turned off and locked, and the van/s ( or Tent/s) are ejected from the site regardless of the time. This site does not accept group bookings for caravans, camper vans or tents. The owners appear to have a built in ' book your own we'll pitch together when we get there ' recognition system, few get past it,and those who do aren't able to remain pitched for very long.
Both sites are busy. Buzzing with people enjoying themselves every day and every evening Virtual silence mode switches on 11.30pm .so everyone is guaranteed the good nights sleep they have paid for. Don't snore too loudly!!!

Just imagine, some poor Bu**er has to live next door to these people when they return home, at least it gives them a break.

Caravan makers will be adding new Surface to Surface missles as an optional extra soon.

Now there a thought!

NOffy - I like ya thinking about the neighbours!!

Sadly you are going to get folks like this in every walk of life - please dont tar everybody with the same brush though. When we go away, we tend to have a group of at least ten of us of varying sizes and 'types' - I'm the 'ape-shouldered' one (complete with tattoos) and then there are various other characters - one guy likes to wear his own made clothes, some would call them individual, I call 'em frocks!. At least one of the party will turn up on a trike and a couple will be on bikes.

We usually get some odd looks from other campers but I can almost guarantee that we cause no hassle and have even been known to endear ourselves to other campers by way of invites to join us - recently we packed up the guitar at 11 as per the rules and got asked carry on with a few more tunes!

My ethos is one of 'live and let live' - , try to remember that 'different' is not 'wrong' - I am not condoning anti-social behaviour on campsites or elsewhere but I try to be aware that some peoples standards of behaviour are different.

Wardens wading in to shut people up? That has to be the judgement call of the warden and nobody else!!  I am a fairly big guy and can handle myself - I have worked doors in the past and there is nothing scarier than a few drunks onto one. If the warden doesnt feel safe in intervening then nobody else has the right to force him or her to do so. Look at the potential for danger in a situation like that and try to relate it to your own work - there is a very real risk that the warden will get hurt -why should he or she take that risk?

Cheers!!

We always stay on CLs now and even then look for 'adult only' ones. We love kids (we have 4 grand children) but don't want the noise etc when we are away. Only had one bad experience on a CL near Lyme Regis where there was two or three vans that seemed to be together and had BBQs most evenings with lots of booze, several dogs and kids who always set up goal posts outside our van!

I don't want to appear snooty, but by using Caravan Club members only CL's we generally know that our neighbours are going to be well behaved and quiet. We avoid Club sites for two reasons a) they are very expensive compared to CLs b) many of them accept 'non members' - here on in lies the problem, you never know what sort of people will set up camp next to you. What's the use of being a member if non members can also use the site?

We did that. We were later threatened by the warden that we would be blacklisted for doing so (we were told the CC and area managers don't have the time to write back to members), and our storage pitch terminated with immediate effect if we did this again! We daren't go near them now as we've nowhere else to store the van.

Stick by your guns, ask him to put it writing and take it up with the CC.
This warden is no better than the people who are out of order on sites, this is terrible.
I think hes protecting himself, or thinks he is with these threats.
You would be doing the whole Caravan fraternity a huge service if he was removed from a position where he could make those sort of threats. This is diabolical.

The CC will probably do nothing but if you are lucky you will be sent a letter.  We had problems reported it to the caravan club they said they'd investigate numerous emails and phone calles later they said "thanks for letting us know about it we have looked into the matter and spoken to the site warden"  end of letter!

Nothing worse that other people's noise! Site warderns have a duty to deal with nusience behaviour - or risk losing valuable business. However, I think it's important that we grown up's are tolerant of average childhood behaviour - and the noise that goes with it. Kids are noisy..we were all one once! That of course does not excuse lazy parents who would rather allow their children to invade the peace of others rather than deal with it.
With regard to 'partying' adults, virtually every site I look at has clear rules about no noise, music, partying etc etc. Clearly there is a market for sites which are 'pro' partying! Lets hope that if this idea takes off they advertise well - to ensure those of us who like peace and tranqulity know to stay away!

Adult sites for us EVERY time! on our ever first trip a few yrs ago, decided to try lovely little site nr ormskirt lancs, was fine until 2 vans turned up with litte ones, both adult parties congregated in one awning whilst little ones enjoyed riding their bikes, bouncing kicking their balls etc etc whilst parents enjoyed " drinkies " in the awning.Never again.I think persisitant trouble makers should be banned from sites they have caused trouble at(hopefuly they will eventualy run out of sites to go) lol.
